Optimalisasi Maqasid Syari’ah dalam Ekonomi Islam: Pendekatan Konseptual dan Aplikasinya Pada Lembaga Keuangan Syariah

Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of maqasid al-syari‘ah in the activities of Islamic financial institutions in Indonesia. Amidst global economic changes and the increasing need for a financial system that prioritizes not only profit but also social benefits, maqasid serves as an important framework that distinguishes Islamic finance from traditional finance. The approach used in this study is descriptive qualitative with a literature study method, through analysis of various literature sources, both classical and modern, that explore maqāṣid and its application in the products, services, and management of Islamic financial institutions. The research findings indicate that maqāṣid is beginning to be adopted in product policies, financing mechanisms, and strengthening Islamic governance, although the level of implementation varies. Several challenges remain, such as a low understanding of maqasid, limited indicators for assessing performance, and a dominant focus on profit. This study concludes that optimizing maqasid in the Islamic financial sector requires a comprehensive strategy through digital innovation, strengthening the role of the Sharia Supervisory Board, and developing maqasid-based assessment standards. It is hoped that these findings can provide both theoretical and practical contributions to the development of Islamic financial institutions that pay more attention to social welfare and justice.
